One of New Jersey's best-known citizens, rocker Jon Bon Jovi is giving back to his home state.

He is teaming up with the state's governor and Newark's mayor to build 51 affordable housing units for homeless people who have AIDS.

HELP USA Newark will team up with Bon Jovi's Philadelphia Soul Charitable Foundation to build the Genesis Apartments.

Jon Bon Jovi is the lead singer of the rock band Bon Jovi, which has sold 120 million albums.

He co-owns The Philadelphia Soul AFL team. The Philadelphia Soul Charitable Foundation was founded in 2006 and has been involved in projects like donating beds to the Covenant House to building a playground at a local orphanage.
