Three people wanted in armed carjacking in Pickering: police

Police are searching for three suspects after an armed carjacking in Pickering on Saturday.

Durham Police say just before 11 p.m. on Dec. 7, a the driver of a vehicle allegedly intentionally crashed into a black Mercedes G550 SUV driving eastbound on Taunton Road near Altona Road.

The driver of the Mercedes got out of the vehicle and was confronted by two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, police said.

Investigators say the man with the gun demanded the driver’s keys and both suspects fled the scene in the stolen Mercedes.

Police describe the first man as about six feet tall and was wearing a blue medical mask, black coat and blue gloves.

The second man is said to be about five-foot-10 and was also wearing a blue medical mask, black coat and blue gloves.

Police say a third suspect was also present and drove away in a small black sedan that initially crashed into the victim’s vehicle.
