Man wanted after Vaughan bank robbery: police

York Regional Police are searching for a man who robbed a bank in Vaughan on Wed. Feb. 5. (YRP)

Police are hoping to speak with witnesses after a bank robbery in Vaughan on Wednesday.

York Regional Police (YRP) say at 10:30 a.m., a man entered a bank near Highway 7 West and Marycroft Avenue and flashed a handgun at a teller while demanding money.

The suspect fled on foot after receiving an unknown quantity of money.

Police describe the man as being about 40 years old with a Middle Eastern accent. He was wearing a burgundy jacket, black pants, black toque, and a black medical mask at the time of the robbery.

Investigators are hoping to speak with anyone with dashcam footage who were in the area Wednesday between 10 and 11 a.m.
