Nine Peruvian workers killed in a fatal crash in southwestern Ontario last week were remembered in a memorial service in Kitchener tonight.
The caskets travelled in a funeral procession from the Henry Walzer Funeral Home to St. Anthony Daniel Catholic Church at 5 p.m.
Roughly 300 people, including family and friends, were in attendance for the memorial service which began around 7 p.m.
The bodies will be returned to Peru over the weekend.
Eleven people, including 10 poultry workers, were killed in Hampstead, Ont. on Feb. 6 when a van drove through a stop sign and collided with a truck.
Three people survived the crash.
