An American citizen accused of causing tens of thousands of dollars in property damage during the G20 Summit three years ago has been released on $80,000 bail.

Richard Dean Morano, 22, of Pennsylvania, appeared in court at Finch Avenue today after being extradited from the United States on Tuesday and spending one night in police custody.

Morano is facing 14 charges in connection with an estimated $25,000 in damage and will stay with relatives Pennsylvania until his next court appearance.

Bail hearing held over for second suspect

Morano was one of two men extradited from the United States on Tuesday to face charges in connection with G20 rioting.

Kevin Chianella, 20, of New York, also appeared in court today to answer to 53 charges, but had his bail hearing set aside until Thursday.

Chianella, is accused of causing an estimated $300,000 in damage during the June 2010 summit, which included smashing 15 storefront windows and an ATM.

Police also allege Chianella smashed the windows of a police car while an officer was trapped inside, kicked in the windshield on two unmarked police vans, dropped something into a police car that was already ablaze to accelerate the fire and threw a piece of granite through a glass window of the Toronto Police Museum on College Street.

Chianella was dressed in black at the time and was armed with a canvas bag filled with rocks, according to police.

The charges faced by Chianella include three counts of theft under $5,000, 22 counts of mischief over $5,000 and 11 counts of mischief endangering life.

Chianella is also charged with assaulting police with a weapon, obstructing a peace officer, break and enter, arson, mischief under $5,000, attempt mischief endangering life wearing a disguise with intent to commit an indictable offence, two counts of intimidation of a justice system participant by violence, two counts of assault with a weapon, three counts of assault and three counts of theft under $5,000,
