One person has died following a serious crash Monday night, Toronto police have confirmed.

It happened at the intersection of Bloor and Parliament streets shortly before 10 p.m.

According to paramedics, three people – two females and one male – were rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries following the single-vehicle crash.

Information on their ages was not immediately provided.

Police confirmed that one person had died in a tweet shortly before 11 p.m.

Preliminary information provided by investigators said that a vehicle had slammed into a pole.

One person is currently in custody for impaired operation of a motor vehicle in connection with the crash, police said. Information on the gender and age of the suspect was not immediately provided.

The intersection is currently closed as police continue to investigate.
