The Canadian Security Intelligence Service’s website is down after being targeted in a cyberattack for the second time in less than two weeks.

Sources tell CTV’s Mercedes Stephenson that a rogue hacker is trying to draw attention to the case of an Ottawa teen who was charged in an alleged "swatting" incident.

Sources say the same person was previously responsible for cyberattacks on the websites of several police forces. The person was previously connected to hacking group Anonymous, but appeared to be operating alone on Monday, sources say.

Less than two weeks ago, several government websites, including ServiceCanada.gc.ca and Parl.gc.ca, were hit by a cyberattack. Anonymous claimed responsibility and Treasury Board President Tony Clement confirmed that a denial of service attack took place.
