Bad behaviours, superhero rap battles and celebrities mocking themselves were just some of the topics Canadians were drawn to online, according to a recent list by Google.

The search engine, which owns YouTube, put out a list Tuesday detailing the top 10 trending videos of 2014 in Canada. Among them, only one was truly patriotic in nature, showing Americans trying out our favourite Canadian snacks. In other categories, music videos and ads also enjoyed a steady barrage of clicks from Canadians, with videos by Nicki Minaj, Meghan Trainor, Taylor Swift and Sia among the most viewed in the country this year. Katy Perry’s Dark Horse nabbed the top spot as the most viewed music video on YouTube in Canada this year.

TD’s “Sometimes you just want to say thank you” topped the list of most-watched ads, beating out Budweiser’s Super Bowl XLVIII commercial, “Puppy Love,” which came second and the Always ad “Always #LikeAGirl.”

Here’s a look at the top trending videos on the list:

10. Rounding out the list at number 10 comes a truth smackdown for millennials from Superwoman & Humble The Poet. The music video mock-up by the Canadians pokes fun at young people for everything from selfies to flashing parent-owned bling. Posted July 1, the video has nearly 7 million views to date.

9. Sports fans will appreciate Number 9, with a list of the top ten unsportsmanlike moments in sports. The list includes rude bodily projections, shoe throwing and a range of other bad behavior from athletes. Not to mention one particularly memorable moment from Olympic history involving a crowbar….

8. Some people just can’t let it go. And some are apparently willing to take it as far as creating their own ending. Number eight features a cheeky alternate ending to the Disney blockbuster “Frozen.” Purists might want to shield their eyes.

7. The viewing audience keeps getting younger and younger and number 7 proves it. It appears that toddlers with ipads watched, rewatched and watched again to push "Shapes Songs Collection Vol. 1" into the list of most watched YouTube videos in the country. Defying everything we know about successful Internet videos, the entry weighs in at 35 minutes long and features lessons for babies, toddlers and kindergarten kids about shapes. Watch out, Sesame Street….

6. If you don’t have nightmares, you’ll probably have a good laugh as Jimmy Fallon and will.i.am exude their alternate junior high school girl personas in “Ew!,” another music video send up poking fun at tweens.

5. One of the only uniquely Canadian videos to make the list, Number Five offers a glimpse of Americans trying Canadian snack foods for the first time. While poutine and maple candy get good reviews, Canadians may find some of the other snack choices questionable, to say the least.

4. At Number Four is a painful-to-watch video of a man trying to bend an iPhone 6 Plus. Don’t watch if you had to wait in line for one….

3. In the made-it-because-we-could category comes a generational rap battle between Superman and 90s anime character Goku. Zingers that will likely tickle fanboys include: “Defeat me with heat beams? You’re crazy / cause I’m a Super Saiyan and you’re a flying Miss Daisy.” [NOTE: Contains swears]

2. There’s a good chance you’ve come across Number 2, even if you’re not a YouTube regular. “Celebrities Read Mean Tweets #7” offers readings of Twitter-spouted vitriol directed at the likes of Julia Roberts, Courtney Cox, Andy Garcia, Ashton Kutcher and others. Their readings by the stars – and their reactions are delicious.

1. Topping the list of videos Canadians couldn’t watch enough of in 2014 comes an epic lip syncing battle that only Jimmy Fallon and Emma Stone are likable enough to pull off. At an Internet-heavy seven minutes long, the video has garnered an impressive 37 million views since it was posted in April. Undoubtedly fun to watch, but you might not want to try some of their dance moves at home.
