A longtime city councillor and former budget chief won’t run for re-election in October.

Ward 39 Coun. Mike Del Grande confirmed in an email to CP24 that he will step aside at the end of the current term of council, allowing someone new to take over.

Del Grande has represented the Scarborough-Agincourt area on council for the last 11 years and served as budget chief for the first two years of Mayor Rob Ford’s mayoralty before resigning amid frustrations with a number of amendments made to the 2013 budget.
