A 24-year-old man is in critical condition in a GTA hospital after he was wounded in a stabbing in Mississauga, Peel Regional Police say.

The stabbing occurred on Acorn Place, near Eglinton Avenue and Hurontario Street, on Sunday at about 9 p.m.

Investigators believe the victim was involved in some sort of verbal altercation before he was stabbed.

Police are looking for four black males, who are considered persons of interest.

Const. George Tudos, a police spokesman, said a firearm was observed at the scene.
