York Regional Paramedics say a pilot was taken to local hospital with unknown injuries after a small plane crashed north of the small town of Baldwin, Ont. on Friday night.

They said a small plane went down in “an isolated wooded area” near the intersection of Highway 48 and Old Homestead Road, sometime before 9:05 p.m. Friday night.

Paramedics said the pilot was able to break free of the wreckage and was brought the ambulance with help from bystanders in the area.

The pilot’s condition is not known at this time. The plane carried no passengers.
