Toronto police say they have arrested two males wanted in connection with an alleged human trafficking ring operating in the GTA.

Police say the arrests were made as part of the Human Trafficking Enforcement team’s Project Guardian investigation, which was launched in September 2014.

It is alleged that an 18-year-old girl was forced into the sex trade and was taken to hotels throughout southern Ontario for a four-month period. Police say the victim was prevented from sleeping for days at a time and made to work instead.

On July 11, police say two suspects were located and arrested in connection with the case.

Toronto resident Levi Alexander, 20, has been charged with pointing a firearm, trafficking in persons by exercising control, material benefit by trafficking persons, procuring/exercising control, material benefit from sexual services, uttering threats, assault, overcoming resistance- choking, and mischief.

A 17-year-old male, who cannot be identified under the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, is facing four charges including trafficking in persons by recruiting, material benefit by trafficking persons, procuring/exercising control, and material benefit from sexual services.

Police say a third suspect, 22-year-old Devone Nolan, is also wanted in connection with the case and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Nolan is facing multiple charges, including material benefit from sexual services and uttering threats.

Police say they believe there may be more victims and are asking anyone with information to call Sex Crimes investigators at 416-808-7474 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 416-222-TIPS (8477).
