Two separate investigations by the Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force have resulted in the seizure of a large quantity of weapons and drugs and the filing of a combined 73 charges against four suspects.
According to police, a man was stopped for an unrelated matter on Monday and was found to be in possession of a firearm.
As a result, officers executed a search warrant at a Toronto address and seized a bulletproof vest, a loaded Glock .22 semi-automatic handgun, a .12 gauge shotgun and numerous rounds of ammunition, including two over capacity firearm magazines. Police also seized cash and a quantity of powdered cocaine, crack cocaine, heroin, marijuana, crystal methamphetamine, morphine, MDMA and ketamine.
Two people were taken into custody as a result of the execution of the search warrant.
Matthew Reay, 33, is facing 30 drug and firearm-related charges while Lindsay McVey, 31, is facing 14 drug-related charges.
In an unrelated investigation that was also conducted on Monday members of the Integrated Gun and Gang Task Force arrested another man and woman for firearms-related offences.
As a result of those arrests, officers executed a search warrant at a Toronto address and seized two bulletproof vests, a loaded Glock .40 semi-automatic handgun, a drum style magazine with a 50-round capacity and a quanity of ammunition for various other types of guns. Police also seized a quantity of powdered cocaine, crack cocaine and methamphetamine.
Jasfa Brown, 32, is facing 15 drug and firearm-related charges while Amanda Toppin, 31, is facing 12 drug and firearm-related charges.
