Toronto police say a 22-year-old was fatally wounded by gunfire just hours after a shooting at the same Etobicoke apartment building on Tuesday.

The two shootings occurred at a building located at 2063 Islington Ave. and police say they believe the incidents are connected.

Officers were initially called to the housing complex at 3:15 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting.

A man, who has been identified as 21-year-old Ahmed Siyad, was found suffering from gunshot wounds and was taken to hospital in non life-threatening condition.

Shortly after police cleared the scene, they were called back to the building for another shooting.

Paramedics said a man had been shot in the arm, leg and possibly the head and was taken to a trauma centre in critical condition.

In a news release issued Thursday, police said the man was later pronounced dead in hospital.

The victim has been identified as Malcolm Marfo, of Toronto.

No arrests have been made in the case.
