Roads in select areas of Toronto will be closed at times this weekend to make way for street festivals and the last leg of the nationwide Pan Am/Parapan Am Games torch relay.

On Saturday from noon until 5 p.m., the westbound side of Shoreham Drive, the southbound lanes of Jane Street and the westbound lanes of York Gate Boulevard will be closed for the Caribana Flags and Colours Festival Parade, Toronto police said.

The TTC’s 35 bus will divert around these closures.

From Saturday at 8 a.m. until Sunday at midnight, St, Clair Avenue West will be closed between Winona Drive and Christie Street, to make way for the Salsa On St. Clair Festival.

All TTC buses will run on a detour around this closure via Davenport between Bathurst Street and Oakwood Avenue during the weekend.

On Saturday evening, the Pan-Am Games torch will arrive back in Toronto after a tour throughout the country. A celebration for its arrival in the city is planned on the Bloor/Danforth bridge, starting at 5 p.m. on Saturday.

Police say they will use rolling road closures to protect the torch as it makes its way to the bridge. The torch will make its way from St. James Town Library, heading southbound on Bleecker Street to Wellesley Street East, westbound to Jarvis Street and northbound on Jarvis Street, using Ted Rogers Way to hit Bloor Street East.

The relay will then head eastbound on Bloor Street East to the bridge. The bridge itself will be closed to vehicle traffic other than TTC buses from Friday night at 8 p.m. to Sunday morning at 5 a.m. Castle Frank Road from the Don Valley Parkway and the Bayview extension ramps in both directions will be closed from Saturday at 4 p.m. to Sunday at 5 a.m.

On Sunday, the torch relay will make 11 stops throughout Scarborough, according to Toronto police:

• Withrow Park, McConnell Avenue, from 9 a.m. to 9 a.m.

• Variety Village, 3701 Danforth Avenue, from 10:41 a.m. to 10:56 a.m.

• L’Amoreaux Community Recreation Centre, 2000 McNicoll Avenue, from 11 a.m. to 12:16 p.m.

• Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto, 5183 Sheppard Avenue East, from 12:43 p.m. to 12:48 p.m.

• The Toronto Zoo, from 1:06 p.m. to 2:06 p.m.

• CIBC Pan Am/Parapan Am Aquatic Centre (PAC), 1028 Military Trail (at Morningside Avenue), from 2:38 p.m. to 3:38 p.m.

• University of Toronto – Scarborough Campus, 130 Old Kingston Road, from 4 p.m. to 4:10 p.m.

• CIBC Branch, 255 Morningside Avenue, from 2:27 p.m. to 2:37 p.m.

• No Frills, 2742 Eglinton Avenue East, from 5:12 p.m. to 5:17 p.m.

• Don Montgomery Community Centre, 2467 Eglinton Avenue East, from 5:32 p.m. to 6:02 p.m.

• Toronto Afrofest, 1141-1157 Eastern Avenue, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

As a result, rolling lane closures will be in effect at times throughout the day to allow the torch to arrive at its scheduled stops on time.

Also, subway service on the Scarborough RT is cancelled this weekend due to maintenance work. Replacement buses will be running.

Subway service on the Bloor/Danforth Line between St. George and Pape stations will begin at noon on Sunday.
