Police have identified the victim in a deadly west-end shooting as 26-year-old Christopher Kotsopoulos.
According to police, officers were called to the area of The Queensway and Windermere Avenue at around 5:45 p.m. Monday after receiving reports that an adult man was assaulting a young male and another man.
Shortly after their arrival, the officers heard shots coming from a nearby apartment building.
Kotsopoulos was then found outside the building suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso.
Kotsopoulos was rushed to hospital without vital signs, but he was pronounced dead a short time later.
No arrests have been made in the case and police say there is no connection between the assault call and the shooting.
