A woman had her purse stolen as she provided medical assistance to a stabbing victim near Queen Street and Spadina Avenue early Sunday morning, police say.

The victim, an unidentified male, was stabbed multiple times during a fight that broke out as patrons left a nearby bar at around 3 a.m.

Walking by a short time later, the woman placed her purse on the ground in order to help staunch the victim’s bleeding and discovered it was missing once paramedics arrived and took over.

It was recovered nearby but the valuables had been removed.

The stabbing victim was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he remains.

No arrests have been made.
