Toronto police are investigating the city's most recent homicide after a woman was found with 'significant' facial trauma near Dufferin and Dupont streets.

Paramedics were called to the Wallace-Emerson Community Centre, located at 1260 Dufferin St., at around 10:30 a.m. and found a woman suffering from facial trauma.

Despite efforts to revive the woman with CPR and a defibrillator, Toronto Paramedic Services told CP24 the woman, believed to be in her 50s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is unclear exactly how the woman sustained the facial injuries.
