It turns out that "time, love and tenderness" were not enough to save Michael Bolton's relationship with Nicollette Sheridan.
The easy listening singer and the Desperate Housewives star have ended their two-year engagement. Bolton, 55, and Sheridan, 44, originally started dating in 1992 and stayed together for five years. They reunited in 2005 and got engaged in 2006.
"Nicollette Sheridan and Michael Bolton have amicably ended their engagement," said Nicole Perna, Sheridan's rep to People. "They appreciate your respect for their privacy in this matter."
It would have been a second marriage for both. Sheridan was married to actor Harry Hamlin from 1991 to 1993. Bolton was married for 15 years to Maureen McGuire until 1990, and they have three daughters together.
