TORONTO - Casino Rama is set to host a mixed martial arts card on April 2.
That's four weeks ahead of the UFC's debut in Ontario -- UFC 129 at Toronto's Rogers Centre.
The Rama card -- called "MMA: The Reckoning" -- is being promoted by Knockout Entertainment Canada, which put on the last boxing show at the casino about two hours north of Toronto in Orillia.
Promoter Robert Waterman is based in England and so far the only names on the card are English fighters Tom (Kong) Watson and Dean Amasinger.
Waterman says a number of top Canadian and other fighters will also be featured on the card.
The Casino Rama venue has a capacity of about 5,000.
