TORONTO - Police in Toronto are asking for information about the man accused of killing a police officer with a stolen snowplow.

They want to hear from anyone who knew Richard Kachkar personally, or had contact with him while he was in Toronto before his arrest.

They say the 44-year-old Kachkar may have travelled from St. Catharines, Ont., to Toronto by bus on Thursday, Jan. 6.

He spent the night of Tuesday, Jan. 11 at a shelter in Toronto.

The following morning, Sgt. Ryan Russell was killed as he tried to stop the snowplow.

Thousands of uniformed officers and others turned out for Russell's memorial service on Tuesday.
