One person injured in Lake Shore crash

One person has been transported to hospital following a single-vehicle collision Tuesday evening.

Toronto police said a car travelling eastbound struck a hydro pole on Lake Shore Boulevard near Royal York Road at around 7 p.m..

The driver suffered minor injuries, police said.

Lake Shore Boulevard is closed in both direction near Royal York Road as police investigate.

Sheppard closed for crash investigation

Two people were seriously injured after a collision in North York Tuesday morning.

The crash happened at around 10:30 a.m. in the intersection of Sheppard Avenue and Wilson Heights Boulevard.

One woman suffered serious injuries.

There are reports a second person was arrested at the scene.

Police have closed off Sheppard Avenue in both directions at Wilson Heights to investigate the circumstances of the crash.

Crash disrupts streetcar service

A crash between a TTC streetcar and a dump truck disrupted service between the Humber Loop and Long Branch for about an hour Tuesday morning.

Streetcars on the 501 Queen and 508 Lakeshore lines were delayed due to a crash on Lake Shore Boulevard, east of Park Lawn Road, at about 6:15 a.m.

There were passengers on board the streetcar, but there were no apparent injuries. Paramedics attended the scene as a precaution.

Police said the dump truck was trying to turn around and backed into the westbound streetcar, crushing its front doors

The driver of the dump truck is being charged with "fail to yield from private drive" under the Highway Traffic Act.
