Toronto police are expanding their search for a missing York University student on Wednesday to include the water around Ontario Place.

Officers and lifeguards are checking the water as they continue their search for 19-year-old Shane Fair, who hasn't been seen since May 16.

Fair attended a university formal at an Ontario Place club the day he went missing. Police, family and friends have been looking for him since then, but have found nothing.

The grounds and buildings at Ontario Place are also being searched again today.

Friends say they think Fair may have tried to walk home, because the buses carrying students back to York University after the formal were full.

Fair has been missing for 12 days.
