One year after she was last seen, Toronto police spoke at a press conference on investigation into the disappearance of Mariam Makhniashvili on Tuesday.

The 17-year-old has not been seen since she walked to school with her brother last September. The only trace ever found of the teen was her backpack, which was discovered near Mount Pleasant Road and Eglinton Avenue, a couple of weeks after she vanished.

Investigators say there are no new leads in their investigation, but they're continuing to work on the case.

Makhniashvili had been attending Forest Hill Collegiate when she vanished.

Police say there is no evidence to suggest either abduction or foul play in the case.

This week, the Missing Children Society of Canada announced it was offering a $10,000 reward in the case.
