The father of missing Toronto teen Mariam Makhniashvili was in court on Wednesday afternoon for a bail hearing after sureties pulled his bail order -- sending him back to jail.

Vaktang Makhniashvili, 50, is charged in connection with the stabbing of a neighbour last month.

Makhniashvili posted a $2,000 bail with his wife Leila as his surety. However, there a list of strict conditions that he must follow such as not being allowed to possess any firearms, and not communicating with people involved in the stabbing incident. He has also been ordered to attend counseling.

The unidentified couple who originally posted Makhniashvili's $50,000 bond withdrew it after he accused them of being private investigators only interested in his missing daughter. The lead investigator in Mariam's case disputes that claim.

Makhniashvili is due back in court on July 7.
