Ontario public health officials are looking for 27 people after a possible tuberculosis outbreak on a Greyhound bus trip to Windsor.

The possible outbreak occurred on Aug. 31 on bus trip number 0367.  A passenger was infected with tuberculosis, and may have passed it on while coughing on the bus.

The Greyhound bus with 42 people on board left Toronto for Detroit at 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 31. The bus stopped in London, Ont. at 2:35 p.m, and in Windsor at 5:05 p.m. where the 27 people got off the bus.

Ontario's Chief Medical Officer Dr. David Williams, is urging the 27 passengers who disembarked in Windsor to get tested for tuberculosis.

The passenger with tuberculosis was detained at the Windsor/Detroit border by U.S. customs officials.  The passenger was kept in Windsor under the Federal Quarantine Act.

The 15 passengers who continued on the bus to Detroit are being looked after by public health in the U.S. and Ontario.
