A Richmond Hill woman has come forward to claim a $22.5 million lottery prize.

Vivian Pik Yee Leung, a retail store manager from Richmond Hill, stepped forward to accept a cheque for more than $22.5 million Thursday afternoon at the Ontario Lottery and Gaming headquarters in downtown Toronto.

Leung said she discovered that she had won the prize while at work.

"The screen said big winner, and I asked the retailer how much," Leung said. "When she told me $22 million, my face got red and I got a headache. I was so stunned, I just went back to work. My coworkers kept asking me if I wasn't feeling well."

Leung said she plans to use some of her winnings for travelling and on her friends and family, including moving her father to the GTA from Edmonton.

Plans to take a permanent vacation, however, are not in the cards, Leung said.

"I want to stay with my job," she said.

The winning ticket was purchased at Lucky 8 Lotter at Pacific Mall on Steeles Avenue.
