TORONTO - A day after losing the vote to be Toronto's next mayor, George Smitherman and Joe Pantalone took in a performance of "Priscilla Queen of the Desert -- the musical."

Ballet star Rex Harrington and the hosts of the TV series "Colin and Justin's Home Heist" were among the other guests at Tuesday night's North American premiere of the glittery show in the city.

Adapted from the Oscar-winning film, the musical follows three drag queens as they travel across the Australian outback in a battered bus.

Will Swenson, Nick Adams and Tony Sheldon play the drag queens.

Toronto actor C. David Johnson plays a mechanic who joins them on their ride.

"Priscilla," the musical, has already been a hit across Australia, New Zealand and London.

At the Toronto opening, audience members gave the cast a rousing standing ovation and sang along to the tunes, including "Hot Stuff" and "Go West."
