Subway service on the Yonge line was down for most of the morning rush hour between Yonge and Bloor stations after a rail broke at King station.
Shuttle buses were called at about 7 a.m. after a piece of the track broke. Normal service resumed at about 8:30 a.m.
Thousands of commuters were forced to wait for a bus, or along Yonge Street during the height of rush hour.
