A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a violent rampage in Yorkville on Saturday night.

Police say the violence began at around 7 p.m. after a suspect left a hotel bar and assaulted six people, including a 16-year-old girl.

The suspect then approached a man walking his dog and kicked the animal in the rib cage. Police say the attack was not provoked.

It is believed the suspect also damaged a parked car in the area.

Toronto resident Jacob Kerzner is facing several charges including six counts of assault, cruelty to animals, causing unnecessary suffering and two counts of mischief.

Police are still investigating the case as they believe there may be more victims.
