The suspect wanted in connection with the daytime shooting of a 19-year-old man at Osgoode subway station last week is also wanted for a slew of other serious and violent incidents, police said Thursday.

Curt John, 21, of no fixed address, is wanted by police for attempted murder, for allegedly having a role in a 2008 murder, for another case allegedly involving robbery and forcible confinement and an additional case for alleged robbery and assault.

Anyone who sees the fugitive is asked to call 911 right away, Insp. Mario Di Tommaso says.

The suspect is believed to be "extremely dangerous" and should not be approached.

If people have information about John's location, call police at 416-808-5200 or Crime Stoppers anonymously (416-222-TIPS).

Di Tommaso says investigators believe John is still in Toronto.

"He knows he's wanted," he says. "We are doing whatever we can to get this person off the street. We have dedicated significant investigative resources and significant police resources to arrest this individual."

The suspect may be driving around in a silver 2004 Ford Escape with license plate BBZP-445.

Police say John is also wanted in connection with the 2008 Jamaica Day murder of Dominic Shearer-Hanomansingh. They say Curt John allegedly gave his cousin - Jimmy John - his ID to get medical treatment. Curt John also allegedly helped his brother get rid of evidence.

Curt John goes by several aliases, including Royston Quashie, Curt Ketichnal John and Curt Ketchinal John.

He has two scars - one on his left knee and one on his left check.

The suspect is known to hang out near Jane and Finch and Yonge and Finch, police say.

Surveillance footage and a photo from the Osgoode shooting were released shortly after the incident.

Investigators also revealed more information about what happened last Thursday.

The suspect first boarded a bus in the Jane Street and Finch Avenue area and travelled toward Downsview station, police say, with the victim boarding at some point before it arrived at the subway terminal.

The shooting happened at about 10:45 a.m. inside Osgoode station, at Queen Street and University Avenue last Thursday. At least three shots were fired after a dispute broke out on the platform, sending bystanders scrambling for cover.

Police would not say what the argument was about, just that the two knew each other.

The victim was shot twice -- once in the stomach and once in the thigh. He was taken to hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.

The suspect was last seen Wednesday Jan. 28 after a man was allegedly approached by John and another suspect, who requested a ride, police say.

After arriving at the location, on Niska Road, the victim was allegedly struck with a handgun and thrown from the vehicle before John and the suspect fled with the SUV.

He's not just wanted by two Toronto Police divisions, but by the RCMP too.
