Toronto police are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with a violent stabbing that occurred on Saturday.

According to police, a 32-year-old man was stabbed multiple times in the neck and body with a knife after getting into a physical altercation with another man in the College Street and Spadina Avenue area.

The victim was transported to hospital where he is currently receiving treatment for serious injuries.

Police say the suspect, identified as 46-year-old Alejandro Ernesto Solano-Aguilera, should be considered armed and dangerous.

He is described by police as black, five-foot-six, 150 pounds, with salt and pepper hair.

Police say Solano-Aguilera is known to frequent shelters in the downtown area.
