A 17-year-old surrendered to police last night in connection with Tuesday's stabbing at C.W. Jefferys Collegiate Institute.

The suspect is set to appear in Finch Youth Court on Friday morning, and has been charged with aggravated assault.

C.W. Jefferys was put under lockdown at about 1 p.m. Tuesday after a 16-year-old boy was stabbed in the stomach.

Just hours before the suspect turned himself in at 31 Division, the victim spoke out from his hospital bed, once again denying he knew his attacker.

The teen said he had not been in a fight before the stabbing, but that someone he didn't know stabbed him and then ran away.

It's the first time the media heard from the teenager, who is expected to make a full recovery.  The boy claims he has told police everything he knows, but investigators say the teen has not been helpful.

In light of this week's stabbing, school administrators have decided to station a police officer at the northwest Toronto school, the same school where 15-year-old Jordan Manners was shot and killed in 2007.

The school will follow 19 others in the GTA to take part in a Toronto police program allowing for community policing officers in schools.

The school had not previously opted for an officer because the trustee for wished consult with the community more fully before coming to a decision.
