AURORA, Ont. - Two men and a boy are facing charges in an incident in which a York regional police officer and a suspect were shot.
The suspects -- Ryan Michael Patrick Berment, 18, Michael Kevin Whitlock, 24, and a 17-year-old boy -- are all from Pickering, Ont.
They are charged with robbery, disguise with intent, forcible confinement, possession of weapons dangerous and theft over $5,000.
Berment is also charged with assaulting a peace officer, possession of a firearm and carrying a concealed weapon.
Police say an altercation occurred when officers responded last Thursday night to a report of a robbery at a Bell Store at 91 First Commerce Drive in Aurora.
The police officer was reportedly shot in the wrist and the injured suspect remains in hospital. The Special Investigations Unit is probing the incident.
