Post-tropical Storm Hanna dropped down in Newfoundland today, flooding streets, parking lots and homes with heavy rains. In Fredricton, 130 to 140 millimetres of rain have fallen. So far, the damage has only been to property. No injuries have been reported in the province.

Meanwhile, Hurricane Ike has now set its sights on south Florida. The storm has been downgraded to a category three, but it doesn't mean that it has completed its damage . Key West residents and tourists have received mandatory evacuation orders.

The Florida Keys and Cuba are expected to feel the effects of Ike Monday, and residents are stocking up on supplies to prepare.

Ike wrecked havoc on Haiti, causing the deaths of 50 people.  Entire towns are under water, and houses have been destroyed including banana orchards that have been wiped-out.  Floods and mudslides have cut-off outlying areas, making rescue efforts difficult. More than 500 people have been killed in Haiti this hurricane season.

Forecasters are also tracking tropical storm Lowell, which is churning-up the Pacific off Mexico.

Lowell is packing 65 kilometres an hour winds, and is located about 750 kilometres southwest of the southern tip of Mexico's Baja California peninsula. The storm is not a threat to land for now.
