A TTC bus driver was pulled over last week for driving impaired on the job, police say.

Police stopped a bus on Friday March 12 just before 3 p.m. and gave the female driver a breathalyzer test.

A report in the Toronto Sun contained several details about the incident. The newspaper says it was a concerned passenger who called 911. The bus was near Dawes Road and Danforth Avenue, the report says.

Police say the driver was within the warn range – between 0.05 and 0.08 - but was not charged.

The Sun reports that the driver, Margaret Wilson, was given a 72-hour licence suspension. TTC spokesperson Kevin Carrington also says the driver has been suspended from work for three days without pay.

TTC Chair Adam Giambrone told CP24 in an email that the incident is being investigated but operators are expected to be fit for duty when they arrive at work.
