NIAGARA FALLS, Ont. - Negotiations are under way in Niagara Falls aimed at renewing contracts for about 30,000 supermarket employees across Ontario.

Loblaw Companis Ltd. is bargaining with three United Food and Commercial Workers union locals with the help of an Ontario mediator.

The negotiations, expected to continue until Friday, cover workers at Loblaws, Zehrs, Real Canadian Superstores, Great Food and Fortinos stores throughout Ontario.

Earlier contract talks got off to a rocky start that led to a 97 per cent strike vote by union members earlier this month.

The union says both parties have now agreed that all issues are on the table for discussion.

The union says it will stay at the table as long as talks are progressing.
