At least one person is in hospital after a collision involving a police cruiser and a house in Brampton on Thursday morning.

EMS officials said the crash happened on Vodden Street at about 5 a.m.

A vehicle, occupied by two females, crashed into the police car before crashing into the front of a two-storey house, destroying its garage.

The crash left a gaping hole in the garage.

Moments earlier, the vehicle refused to stop for police.

The patient – not a police officer – was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, officials said.

No police officer was injured, Peel Regional Police say.

It's not known if Ontario's Special Investigations Unit will be called in to investigate because of the fact a police officer was involved in the crash.
