UFC heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez is in Toronto to visit Real Sports Bar & Grill just after noon on Thursday as part of a media tour through Toronto.

Velasquez, who became the first Mexican-American heavyweight champion in any professional combat sport, got his morning started at CP24 Breakfast where he was interviewed live.

The mixed martial arts athlete took down Brock Lesnar in a bloody win at UFC 121 two weeks ago to claim the heavyweight belt.

He says now that he won the belt, he doesn't feel the pressure to keep it.

"I never have that fear in me that you might lose it. Everybody loses, it's just a matter of time," Velasquez says. "Just keep improving and keep evolving at your sport, that's all you can do."

The champion also heaped praise on Canadian fighter Georges St-Pierre, the UFC welterweight champion.

"He's one of the best out there. His style of fighting is strong and I think he is going to be the (welterweight) champion for a long time, but guys are always coming after him," Velazquez says.

The event at Real Sports is closed to the public.
