AJAX, Ont. - A 55-year-old woman is facing several charges after a domestic incident spilled onto the roadways in Ajax, east of Toronto.

Durham regional police say the incident Monday night resulted in extensive damage to two vehicles and a road sign.

Police say officers were called to the scene in the Westney and Rossland roads area where a woman had driven her car into her estranged husband's car in the driveway.

It's alleged that the male driver tried to leave the area but was followed along the roadways and his car was repeatedly struck by the woman's vehicle, although he was not injured.

Police say the woman eventually lost control of her vehicle and hit a "Welcome" sign at the entrance to a nearby neighbourhood, sustaining minor injuries in the collision.

A Thorold woman is charged with assault with a weapon, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and mischief under $5,000.
