Police have arrested three men and are searching for a forth in connection with more than 100 ATM thefts in Ontario and Quebec dating back to the fall of 2010.

According to police, sixty break and enters at ATM machines in Quebec and 70 break and enters at ATM machines in Ontario occurred beginning on Oct. 24, 2010.

Police say the thefts occurred in Ontario cities including Toronto, Hamilton, Waterloo and Ottawa, as well as locations in York, Peel, Durham, Halton and Niagara regions.

Prying, drill and torching were all methods used to break into the machines and remove cash inside, police say.

Three suspects, identified by police at 43-year-old William Nolin, of Niagara, 48-year-old Regean Lavigne and his son Maxime Lavigne, 24, both of Laval, Que., were arrested by police Thursday.

Nolin was arrested in Niagara Region while the Lavigne’s were arrested in Toronto.

Bail hearings for all three are scheduled for Friday in Milton.

A quantity of cash, break and enter tools and two vehicles have been seized as part of the investigation, police say.

The men face multiple counts of break and enter and possession of break and enter instruments, as well as one count each of participating in a criminal organization.

Police say a fourth suspect is also being sought in connection with the thefts, and say they anticipate issuing a Canada-wide arrest warrant in the coming days.
