Federal regulators are warning consumers about several brands of granola bars, sunflower seeds and a type of soup in several recent recalls.

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency said Friday that the Quaker Harvest brand quinoa granola bars and Spitz brand sunflower kernels were being recalled due to possible contamination with Listeria.

Affected flavours of the bars include the “Chocolate Nut Medley” and “Yogurt Fruit & Nut” flavours, along with Sptiz salted sunflower kernels and dill pickle sunflower kernels.

Also recalled are Clif Sierra Trail Mix Energy Bars with best before dates ranging from June 6, 2016 up to and including Feb. 23, 2017. Regulators say it is possible these bars are also contaminated with Listeria.

Health Canada says foods contaminated with Listeria may not appear or smell spoiled but can still cause nausea, fever, muscle aches, headache and neck stiffness if ingested.

Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly susceptible to Listeria.

On Wednesday, regulators also recalled Campbell’s Eating Smart Chicken Noodle Frozen soups due to the possibility of pieces of wood in packages supplied to hotels and restaurants.
