Crews are responding to a two-alarm fire at a home in the Newtonbrook area.

The fire broke out at a house near Dallas Road and Lister Drive at around 2:20 p.m., Toronto Fire Services Captain Mike Strapko told CP24.

He said 12 trucks and 45 firefighters were called to the scene to fight the fire.

Aerial views showed heavy smoke billowing from the home.

Strapko said it doesn’t appear that anyone was home when the fire started. No injuries have been reported.

However police said surrounding homes were being evacuated as a precaution.

Dallas Road has been closed off from Lister Drive to Transwell Avenue as the fire is brought under control.
