After a two-week construction project, the intersection of Queen Street West and Spadina Avenue reopened to motorists, pedestrians and 501 Queen streetcars Monday morning.

Some restrictions remain in place as crews put the finishing touches on the intersection and continue a major overhaul of streetcar tracks along Spadina Avenue.

Eastbound and westbound Queen Street reopened at 6 a.m., but traffic is limited to one lane in each direction because there is still some work to do on the Queen streetcar island.

One lane is open in each direction on Spadina Avenue, as well.

Normal service has resumed on the 501 Queen streetcar line. Streetcars on the 510 Spadina line will not be operating until November, so shuttle buses are running.

The intersection was shut down for two weeks to allow TTC crews to replace streetcar tracks, switches and overhead wires, and rebuild streetcar platforms.
