Hamilton police have released a photo of a small dog that was stolen from its owner outside a Hamilton Tim Hortons over the weekend.

Lucy, a small blonde Shih Tzu, was tied up to a pole outside the coffee shop on Main Street East by her owner shortly after 11 a.m. on Nov. 14, police said in a news release.

While Lucy’s owner was inside for a short time getting a coffee, a male suspect rode up on a yellow and black mountain bike and took the dog, leaving her leash behind, police said.

The suspect is described as a white male, standing between five-foot-seven and five-foot-eight inches tall with a medium build and a light brown beard. He was wearing blue sweatpants, a grey hooded sweatshirt and a red baseball cap.
