Toronto police are investigating their second homicide case in as many days after a man was shot in the head early Monday morning.

The man died in hospital after he was shot near Lawrence Avenue West and Allen Road shortly after midnight.

After receiving a call about gunshots, officers found the victim in a driveway on Flemington Road and carried him to an ambulance that arrived at the scene a short time later.

Paramedics rushed the man to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A Toronto EMS spokesperson told CP24 the man suffered a gunshot wound to the head.

At least three people were taken from the scene to be questioned by police.

No one has been charged.

The man is Toronto's 45th homicide victim of 2012.

Second shooting death in as many days

Monday's fatal shooting was the second to occur in Toronto in less than 12 hours.

On Sunday afternoon, 28-year-old Jay Bennie Yabut was shot and killed at a home on Military Trail.

Police said Yabut was found in the home's garage.

No one has been charged in his death.
