Toronto Police are searching for a man with mobility aides after he allegedly attempted to rob two convenience stores east of downtown last month.

Police allege the man, who walked with a limp and carried a four-pronged cane, entered two variety stores -- one located at 161 Church Street and another at 237 Gerrard Street East -- between 2:30 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. on April 26, waiving the cane “aggressively” and demanding money from employees.

The man received no money.

After each of the failed attempts, police said the man fled in a red, four-wheeled scooter.

Police described the man as white, between 34 and 45 years old, standing between five-foot-seven and five-foot-ten inches tall. He also had a moustache and beard.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact police at 416-808-7350.
