Toronto Hydro says power has been fully restored to an east end neighbourhood that had been in the dark since Tuesday.

Approximately 6,000 customers were without power in the area bounded by Danforth Avenue to Queen Street East, and Main Street to Victoria Park Avenue after a contractor working in the area accidentally cut a line late Tuesday afternoon.

The outage coincided with one of the hottest days of the summer and crews worked through the night to get power restored, finally brining it back of 95 per cent of customers shortly after 6 a.m. Power was then fully restored to the remaining customers by 7 a.m.
