Repairing a flat bicycle tire is about to get a little easier.

The TTC says that it has installed 20 new self-service bike repair stations along the subway network, bringing the total number of the stations city-wide to 30.

Each bike repair station includes wrenches, Allen keys, screwdrivers and a bike pump, all of which are secured via steel cables.

The locations of the stations were chosen based on bike traffic in the surrounding area, the number of bike trails and routes available nearby and the access to bike parking at the station, the TTC says.

There is no charge for those wishing to use the stations.

"The TTC continues to make it easier for commuters to ride their bike to the subway," TTC Chair Josh Colle said in a press release announcing the new stations. "The TTC continues to invest in expanding mobility options for our customers and remains committed to improving the integration of cycling with transit."

In addition to constructing 20 new bike repair stations, the TTC has also installed bike parking facilities at five subway stations (Dupont, St. Clair West, Old Mill, Lansdowne, Rosedale).
