A massive fire engulfed several vehicles parked in a rail yard in Vaughan on Thursday morning.

At least three vehicles were fully destroyed after the fire broke out on a tractor trailer parked outside Searail on Creditstone Road, north of Highway 7.

It began as an explosion and soon ignited the tires, fuel, oil and bumpers on the vehicles, which were parked on a car-carrier in the CN rail yard. By the time the Vaughan fire department extinguished the flames, the three vehicles were charred and gutted.

An employee of Searail, which bills itself as "the careful car movers," quickly moved a second rig of cars away from the fire shortly after it broke out at about 8:30 a.m.

Searail is a national company that ships vehicles by rail.
